A thought daughter is a girl who thinks a lot, or, as most people say, overthinks. It's a famous term on TikTok. I don't know if you have seen a video talking about it, but besides "thought daughter," there is also "thought son." The meaning of "thought son" is the same as I explained here. Most of the videos about thought daughters describe the term as a girl who overthinks and has a specific taste in movies, books, and TV shows.

According to TikTok, a thought daughter cries on her birthday (I can relate to that), likes poetry and old movies, and she also likes to be alone but not in a lonely way because a thought daughter is kind of an emotional person. She loves writing and journaling. Of course TikTok creates a stereotype about being a thought daughter but you don't need to have anxiety to be one, and just because you like Sylvia Plath books doesn't mean you are a thought daughter. To be honest, it's not an aesthetic or trend that people choose to follow or create a new personality based on it.

A thought daughter probably prefers being at home reading a book instead of going partying. A thought daughter feels everything deeply, but she will prefer to write about it than speak out loud. A thought daughter will not only listen to a song, but she will pay attention to every detail in the lyrics. I searched a lot about this to make a good article and to try to explain the term, but unfortunately, there aren't many articles and posts explaining it. The easiest place to find information about the "thought daughter" term is on TikTok.

Now let's talk about the "thought son." I don't know if you have ever watched a TikTok video with an audio of Timothée Chalamet speaking during a Dune interview, but in this audio, he says: "You could be the master of your fate. You could be the captain of your soul. But you have to realize that life is coming from you and not at you and that takes time."

A thought son is a guy who also likes reading, writing and literature. He has good taste in music (at least that's what I think) and also thinks a lot. He is a guy who feels emotions deeply and doesn't try to hide them to look cool. He can be shy but also likes to be around people who understand and think the same way he does.

The audio of Timothee Chalamet that I metion is used on this videos because he is talking in a "emotional" way. A thought son and a thought daughter have deep conversations about life and not only shallow or superficial conversations about what the weather is like today. Besides the deep conversations, they also have deep thoughts. Do you know what type of movies they problaby like? Movies that make them think. Of course you can like a rom com, but you also can like movies that will make you keep thinking about them during a week.

I saw a lot of times on TikTok girls saying that they want a thought husband in the future and also a thought son, because it's not funny or cool to be nonchalant. What is a nonchalant person? Someone who shows that they don't care or worry about things. Nonchalant is a word used more in a negative way. For example, a nonchalant guy is a guy who doesn't care about emotions, feelings, and doesn't care about demonstrating his feelings. Nowadays, most girls value someone who is caring and who has an interest in her hobbies and opinions.

People also associate a thought son and daughter with someone who is intelligent, and most of the time the thought son or daughter is the older child of their parents. But like I said, it's not a rule; it's more like a term to explain someone's personality, and now a lot of people are seeing themselves in this term. But if you think this term has nothing to do with you, it's okay too.
